This page is a notebook where I keep track of the projects I know I want to make, but am not yet ready to begin. I am only listing projects for which I have already purchased patterns, fabric, or other supplies.

96 x 96 Stonefields Quilt, Pattern by Susan Smith |
Stonefields pattern and templates purchased in March 2025. Planning to use a mix of Tilda prints augmented by other florals in my stash with either a mix of low volume prints or pastel chambrays for the background fabric. This bed size quilt finishes at 96" x 96" and includes appliqué, patchwork and English paper piecing.

80 x 80 Simple Folk Quilt, Pattern by Sarah Fielke |
I purchased the 80" x 80" Simple Folk bed quilt pattern as a BOM (Block of the Month) downloadable PDF format in 2022. It came with unlimited access to instructional videos and I purchased the optional acrylic template set as well. I need to download, save, and print all the patterns (just in case Sarah closes her business and her website resources become unavailable before I finish my quilt!). Note that 80" x 80" is an odd size, like a Full/Double bed size. Might add a border to this quilt to make it Queen size for a guest bedroom.
Traditional Patchwork Patterns (Challenging)

Seven Stars/Seven Sisters Quilt, Pattern Templates by Michelle Yeo |
This is a popular Civil War era quilt pattern that dates back to the 1840s. I am planning to hand piece my Seven Stars/Seven Sisters blocks following Wendy Welsh's methods for hand piecing stars as demonstrated in her YouTube videos, and Cathi of Quilt Obsession's instructions for hand piecing Seven Sisters blocks. I purchased Michelle Yeo's pattern and acrylic templates for making a 60" x 69" throw size quilt but may make mine smaller or larger depending on how it goes. I did like the idea of making this quilt for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge similar to the quilt shown above but I may use a darker background fabric. My acrylic templates have diamond sizes finishing at approximately 1 11/16" and per the pattern instructions, each hexagonal block of seven stars should finish at 17.25" x 14.94".
Star Upon Stars is a 64" x 74 1/2" reproduction of a circa 1846 antique quilt owned by the Grand Rapids Public Museum. I purchased the standalone pattern, the template set, as well as the Patches of Stars book that includes this pattern -- all from Laundry Basket Quilts in 2023. Edyta Sitar has posted video tutorials that walk through machine piecing the various components of this quilt and, since I'm in love with the original antique version, I've purchased and set aside lots of Laundry Basket fabrics for this project (to ensure I don't veer off into my usual lighter and brighter fabrics that would not create the Old Quilt look I'm after). Wendy Welsh made a magnificent version of this quilt in Tula Pink fabrics, completely hand pieced, posted on her blog here, and if I struggle with machine piecing mine I may switch to hand piecing instead.
AccuQuilt GO! Die Cut Patchwork Quilts
Honestly, I should not have purchased many of the AccuQuilt dies that I own. The 8" Qube set that came with my cutting system is full of simple geometric shapes that I prefer to rotary cut by hand. The dies that are most useful to me are the strip dies that I use for cutting binding strips, and the dies for cutting curved shapes for specialty blocks that would be tedious to cut individually. An added bonus of cutting curved shapes with AccuQuilt dies is that they include little notches to help you match and piece the curved seams more accurately. I have already invested in the dies for cutting out each of the projects listed below.
This 52" x 69" throw quilt would be made with the AccuQuilt GO! 12" Cleopatra's Fan BOB die. This is a vintage Laura Wheeler quilt block dating to 1934 and the original block pattern was for a 9 3/4" finished block; you can read my thoughts on this project in greater detail in this blog post. If I make this one, I'm thinking of using Kaffe Fassett, Anna Maria Textiles, or Tula Pink prints from my stash with coordinating solids as shown above. AccuQuilt would speed up the cutting and I do like this block, but it's all curved piecing and it won't go together quickly despite the large block size. However, this would move some of those loud print fabrics out of my stash before I get sick of them and might be a good Rainbow Scrap Challenge project.
AccuQuilt GO! 12" Storm at Sea BOB
AccuQuilt GO! 11 1/2" Double Wedding Ring BOB. This is one of those curved piecing blocks where AccuQuilt is most useful, cutting out all those different shapes accurately and in one pass, with little notches included for accurate matching of the curved seams. I've been smitten with the traditional Double Wedding Ring design since I was talked into assembling someone's grandmother's DWR UFO blocks into a couple of bed runners back in 2019 (read about that here in my blog post). If Dana's grandma had cut out her DWR patches with AccuQuilt, she would not have struggled putting them together and had all of the fullness issues you see above! My blog post includes assembly diagrams and links to tutorials that I found useful. This quilt needs to be large enough for a King or Queen bed.
AccuQuilt GO! 4 1/4" Hexagon + AccuQuilt GO! 4 1/4" Isosceles Triangles. I took a Mediterranean Hexagons workshop with Kaffe Fassett and Brandon Mably in 2019 but, although I love their fabric collections, I didn't want to make a quilt that looked just like everyone else's and wasn't able to come up with anything I liked during the class. I came up with this design in EQ8 afterwards and I bought the AccuQuilt dies to simplify the cutting and construction. It's mostly Anna Maria Textiles, older collections waiting patiently in my stash, and a mix of yellows and golds for my star points. You can the ugly mess I had on my design wall during the workshop, see Kaffe pointing out why he hated it, and see some other colorways I played around with in EQ8 software after the workshop in this blog post here.
