Time flies, doesn't it? The holidays are definitely different with teenagers than they were when I had little ones in the house. I would wrap this post up with a pithy observation about the passage of time and seasons of life, but alas, my brain is too tired. I need to hop in the shower and get dressed for the boys' Christmas show at church tonight. I'm looking forward to seeing what all the high school kids have been working on for the past few months. :-)
I'm linking up with Esther's WIPs on Wednesdays.
I do love your green dress but can see why you would tire of putting it on - can you just imagine wearing those kinds of dresses all the time! Lovely family - glad you are continuing on with the pineapple blocks - love them!
ReplyDeleteSewing is my sanctuary too. Love reading your posts - wishing you and your sweet family a Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThe Pineapple block is one of my favorites. Amazing a block here and a block there adds up. You are inspiring me to block out sewing time during the busy holiday season. So nice you share your beautiful green dress with the kids. It is something they do not see often.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this holiday post and the pineapple blocks are fabulous. I can really relate to the missing gravy story. A few years ago, I mistakenly used confectioner's sugar in place of cornstarch...and could not understand why it wasn't thickening. My son loved it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a heart warming post and lovely family! Glad to see Bernie looking robust. That dress is adorable on you-I understand how you could be sick of it, but hey, it looks good!
ReplyDeleteJust like your other readers I love ❤️ your green dress 👗 and wish I could go to a performance. I also hope you have been watching/looking for other fabrics for your next dress now that you are better informed about what kind of dress works well for the performances that you do.
ReplyDeleteOh man what a lovely family I've been watching your boys grow and gosh they are handsome
Pineapple blocks who would even think that you'd have a moment to sew at this time of year
I do hope you pencil in time in the coming months for doing those last few blocks and to work on a new performance dress ( after you assessed this year and decide it's likely you continue) and what else was it? A skirt or blouse 👚 your have cut out.
Ok I am not your mother it just sounds like it. I love ❤️ your blog and how completely you tell your making it storys
I'm glad you've found a little time for stitching therapy. Your pineapple blocks are some of my favorite quilt blocks ever! I cannot wait to see them all sewn together. It's so fun and heart-warming to look back and photos of our children's younger days. Ahhhh... the memories. Live others have said.... your green dress is gorgeous!
