But at this rate, it's going to be Fall by the time my cotton voile skirt is ready, so I probably should get back to that next, don't you think?
Meanwhile, the boys start back to school two weeks from today. Not that anyone is counting or anything... Anders will celebrate his 12th birthday this Thursday, and Lars is headed off to his Confirmation Retreat next weekend. Before I know it, I'm going to have a seventh grader and a ninth grader! I don't post many pictures of my family here, but we did get one terrific "family selfie" during our beach trip to Kiawah Island, South Carolina last month:

lovely looking family!! love those pineapple blocks
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog. I'm so impressed of your work with those blocks. And even more impressed of the order, fabric strips hanging ready for use. Lovely colours too.
ReplyDeleteGreat family pic!
ReplyDeleteThat is one fabulous pineapple block -- and it looks huge with little tiny strips! Looks like a fun family time. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love your pineapple blocks, and the way you have the strips organized is genius! It is going to be a fantastic quilt. Still looking forward to seeing your skirt. :)
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh. Many moons ago my first quilt was a log cabin and I used a drying rack the same way. Fun! Love that pineapple block. It has so many pieces!! :-)
ReplyDeleteLove love love those pineapple blocks, that is going to be one amazing quilt when it's done!
ReplyDeleteLove love love those pineapple blocks, that is going to be one amazing quilt when it's done!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Beth! I got the drying rack idea from someone else who commented on my blog awhile ago. It’s working out great, especially since I’m alternating between projects to prevent Pineapple Burnout!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, the skirt is up next... It’s just so much SCARIER to me than quilting! I’m afraid to cut the real fabric! Isn’t that silly?
Thanks for stopping by.
Love that pineapple block. The colors are gorgeous. Just read your blog on the Rowenta iron. My Rpwenta is old, bought at a yard sale for $3.00 and that is easy to discard. So far it's lasted 2 years but it could die tomorrow. At that price, it doesn't hurt so much.

I love your pineapple blocks. Those are the best colors in the world, and you've organized it so nicely! What a great family picture, too.
ReplyDeleteI love the pineapple block. IT's going to be a great quilt. Love your design wall
ReplyDeleteLove the family selfie! I'm excited to see the skirt done too. And that pineapple is going to be fabulous on your bed!
ReplyDeleteLove your family portrait!
ReplyDeleteThat drying rack is a great idea! I'm currently draping my 2.5" strips over a railing between the kitchen and my sewing area - not quite so convenient. (And why do I always type "quite" as "quilt" and have to go back and fix it?)
Love the pineapples! That's a quilt on my long long bucket list...
I gotta say, I still love your Whiggish Rose block. Beautiful pattern, perfect colors. Your pineapple blocks are beautiful, too. You'll probably whip through that skirt and wonder why you need to bolster your confidence, it will be so simple. Best to you!
ReplyDeleteGreat family pic! Your pineapple blocks are amazing! I will have to remember to get out my drying rack next time I have a bunch of fabric strips for a project. Thanks for linking up with Oh Scrap!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great family selfie photo Rebecca! You have a fun loving bunch for sure!
ReplyDeleteThat large photo of the pineapple block just blew me away and I pinned it - toot sweet! I really love those colors againt the low volume background! You have a lot of great projects going! I'm so in love with your whiggish rose too. And what a great idea to make the nath quilt from Lars' doodle.
